The Northern Continent, it is also known as the imperium. Ruled by the imperator/imperatrix in Icarthya city, its southern border ends at the Gulley, a 30 mile wide fortress on a narrow strip of land. Its western border ends in Ewsann, also called the borderlands, where Ewsannec tribes mount constant rebellions.
The continent has seen a fractious history, plagued by conquest, rebellion, and invasion from the Nephilim in the south.
Southern continent, its northern border reaches the Gulley which is manned by imperial Icarthian legions. Made up of a hodge-podge of kingdoms, the most notable and nefarious being the Nephilim of Raddhon, the continent is mostly desert.
The Nephilim in Raddhon are ruled by Og of Bashan and often trade with the island of Atlantis. They have also in the past raided Adalalcas to the north. They have an unstable relationship with the other southern kingdoms.
This infamous and secretive island is ruled by a king and is said, by those lucky enough to visit it, to be the heart of civilization.
Atlantians are known worldwide as mysterious inventors, but it is said their true inventions, touched by magic, are kept most secret. As a result, many imperial spies have attempted to steal those secrets.
It has been suggested by some imperial scholars that at one time in history before Atlantians became reclusive, that the world benefited from their inventions, including flying craft, incredible healing devices and more.
Located on the northeast coast of Adalalcas, it is the capital city of the Icarthian Imperium. Once a city state, after centuries of conquest it became the epicenter of power, politics and trade for almost the entire northern continent.
The imperium is ruled by either an imperator or imperatrix who reside in the Black Palace. Bordered by the Wunn Mountains to the north and west, its coastal border is protected by the imperial fleet.
Consisting of six islands, the main island of Yalta has the largest population. Though they belong to the imperium, the locals do not consider themselves imperial subjects. Within their midst is the infamous Necropolis, a school for undead mages and living Aidari students. The undead and the local population have an uneasy understanding.
Located thousands of miles east of Adalalcas and the city of Icarthya, right in the middle of the Adalcis Ocean, these islands are nevertheless property of the Icarthian Imperium. The old imperial fortress of Reaper's End still casts a shadow over the main island.
